The Zertyzzle collection covers everything you earn alongside the levels: an album of 45 illustrated cards, three little planets to build, a companion animal that grows with you, crystal themes, backdrops and effects, a new season every month, and events at Halloween and Christmas. Here's how to unlock it all without spending real money.

The card album
45 cards in 5 sets
The album has 5 sets of 9 cards: Constellations, Astro Animals, Planets, Crystals and Cosmic Wonders. Each set mixes cards of different rarity, from one star (common) to five stars (very rare). Completing a set earns a reward, and completing the whole album unlocks a decorative item you can only get from the album, the Crown of Stars.
Where to get card packs
Cards come in three kinds of packs: the Small pack, the Rare pack and the Legendary pack. You earn them by playing:
- sometimes when you clear a level;
- by completing your daily quests;
- from your league results in the Weekly Rift (Legendary pack);
- now and then from the daily wheel;
- when you level up as a player;
- in team chests and during events.
No pack is ever sold for real money: there's no paid randomness.
What to do with duplicates
Two options. You can give duplicates to a friend (up to 5 cards a day, except five-star cards), which helps your whole group complete the album. Or you can trade them for album stars, which buy new packs in the Star shop.
My planet
Spend your stardust to build and decorate a little planet. Each planet has 8 spots (on Dawn: crystal tree, little cottage, fountain, observatory…), and each spot goes through three stages: Build, Embellish and Perfect. Spots unlock in order.
A finished planet gives a big reward and an exclusive backdrop, then opens the next one. There are three: Dawn, Oceana and Ember. It's the most laid-back side of the game, ideal if you're after relaxing puzzle games.
Your companion
Your animal avatar becomes your companion: it joins you on the board, reacts to your moves and cheers your combos. If you pick a space character as your avatar, the kitten keeps you company instead.
The companion gains experience with every game, more when you win, and grows up to level 10. Its power: one extra move at the start of map levels at level 3, two at level 6 and three at level 9. This bonus never applies in the Weekly Rift, duels, the daily challenge or the free modes, where everyone plays on equal terms. Each animal has its own experience: choosing a new avatar means adopting a new companion.
Crystal themes, backdrops and effects
The Collection screen lets you change the look of the crystals, the backdrop and the merge effects. Some items cost stardust, others are earned: the daily wheel jackpot, the season, a completed album, a finished planet, events. Themes and collections are also available as optional in-app purchases. All of these items are purely cosmetic.
You can also customize your profile: avatar, frame and name color, all visible on the leaderboards.
The season
A new season starts every month. You earn season points as you play: 20 per star on a level, 100 for the daily challenge and 50 per day of weekly challenge. These points unlock reward tiers until the end of the month, on a free track.
The optional Star Pass adds a premium track with the month's exclusive items. It gives no scoring advantage. Your season points also count for your team, as explained on the Zertyzzle game modes page.
Halloween and Christmas events
Two events come back every year: Night of the Pumpkins at Halloween and Starry Christmas Eve at Christmas. During the event, each star earned gives 1 token, the daily challenge 3, the Weekly Rift 2 and each quest 1. Three token tiers unlock three decorative items you can't get the rest of the year, and you keep them forever. Nothing in them costs money.
Stardust, the collection's currency
Almost everything runs on stardust: you earn it by clearing levels, from quests, the daily wheel, your login streak, the free modes and Endless mode. You can also get some by watching a short ad, only if you choose to. To spend it wisely, remember that Zertyzzle boosters can be bought with it too.
