Looking for a merge puzzle game for your phone? In a merge game, you combine identical pieces to create a stronger one, which can then merge again. Zertyzzle applies that idea to crystals: slide a row, line up three identical crystals and watch them merge. It's free and coming soon to Android and iPhone.
What is a merge puzzle game?
Merge games are built on a simple idea: two or three identical items combine into a higher-tier item. The fun comes from that steady climb. You start with small pieces, combine them, and watch rarer and rarer pieces appear. Some merge games are played on a map you build up over time; others on a puzzle board with levels and goals.
Zertyzzle belongs to the second group: it's a true merge puzzle game, with levels to beat in a limited number of moves. Since merges are triggered by lining up three crystals, it also sits right next to match 3 games for adults.
How merging works in Zertyzzle
Slide, line up, merge
You don't move a single piece: you slide an entire row or column. The crystal leaving one side of the board comes back on the other. When three identical crystals end up in a line, they merge into one crystal of the next tier, right where you played.
Four tiers, all the way to the Zertyon
Crystals climb from tier to tier: Shard, then Gem, then Jewel. Three identical Jewels make a Zertyon, the most powerful crystal. Tap it and it clears its whole row and column, or keep it for the perfect moment. Line up five crystals at once and they skip two tiers in one go.
Chain reactions
After a merge, new crystals fall in and can merge in turn. That's a chain reaction, and your points multiply (Combo ×2, ×3…). Setting up those chains is what turns a good score into a great one. The guide to Zertyzzle combos and the Zertyon covers the techniques.
Why merge fans will enjoy Zertyzzle
- Merging that makes you think. Every move shifts a whole row, so you have to anticipate what comes around the other side. That's also why it works as one of the brain games for adults.
- 120 levels across 12 nebulae. Ice to break, rocks to shatter, locks, wild crystals and linked rows keep every board fresh. Each chapter ends with a boss level.
- Modes for every pace. Zen mode with no move limit, a 60-second mode, endless mode with three lives, a daily challenge and the Weekly Rift with its leagues.
- Crystals that shine. Five crystal families (Amber, Jade, Azure, Ruby, Violet) and collectible themes: a treat if you're after a gem puzzle game.
- Short sessions. A level takes a few minutes, and levels work offline.

In-app purchases (stardust, boosters, cosmetic items, the Zertyzzle Club subscription) are optional, and the Club removes forced ads.
